Reports are out claiming that Tottenham Hotspur pair Dele Alli and Eric Dier figure well ahead of Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere in a Sky Sports’ poll about which midfielders should be included in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for Euro 2016.

Alli and Dier occupied the first two positions respectively in the poll while Wilshere, who is reportedly a strong chance of gaining selection, was voted in a distant ninth spot.

Following the Spurs duo were Liverpool trio Adam Lallana, James Milner and Jordan Henderson, Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling, Everton’s Ross Barkley and Leicester City’s Danny Drinkwater to complete the top eight in the poll.

Wilshere has recently made his comeback from a long-term injury and has played only 72 minutes of senior football this season.
