Gareth Frank Bale or simply Gareth Bale has become a household name around the world. The left footed player who can play at left back or left wing was born on the 16th of July 1989 in Cardiff, Wales.
The Tottenham winger, who also plays for the Welsh national side began his professional career at Southampton, playing at left back making a name for himself as a free kick specialist.
In 2007 Bale left Southampton and joined Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur where he gradually transformed into a more attacking player.
Bale has received numerous plaudits and praises from managers and fellow players who describe his as a footballer with “tremendous speed, great crossing ability, a great left foot and exceptional physical qualities”.
The Welsh international star is definitely one of the fastest player in the modern game and his dazzling runs and dribbles has helped him establish himself as one of the best wingers in the world at the moment.
On 2 November 2010, after a Champions League group stage match against Inter Milan, teammate Rafael van der Vaart said, “Everyone is scared of him [Bale]. Maicon is one of the best defenders in the world, and he’s killed him.”
