Manchester United Prepared To Pay £60M For Romelu Lukaku
Reports have emerged claiming that Manchester United are moving for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.
The Sun reported that Jose Mourinho is willing to pay around £60million for the hitman, 23, this summer.
United’s boss sees him as a long-term replacement for Wayne Rooney, 31, and the 35-year-old Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Rooney is expected to leave at the end of this season, while Ibra has yet to trigger a one-year extension to his deal.
Hot-property Lukaku’s talks over a new five-year extension on offer have reached stalemate.
Lukaku and his agent, Mino Raiola, are insisting on a £50m buy-out, while Everton reckon that figure should be around £85m in the current market.
There is also debate over the arrangements for Raiola’s commission payment on any future deal.
